Livermore Ranch, 2013 Merlot, Napa California

Besides the fact that it’s time for new wine glasses, the first look in the glass is a rich heavy burgundy wine. Legs are light but well spaced.

The wine is noted as being a “value priced wine” so a Cheap Ass Wine it is!  The bottle is a total surprise!

The nose is bright with flowers and wood. Very earthy with some citrus. A little spicy in the back of the nose too!

The taste and mouth feel are well balanced.  There is also a slight citrus and tannic flavors. It’s reminiscent of old wood and pipe tabaco. It’s very smoky and velvety and full of flavor!

This is a surprisingly great wine and amazing buy!
